Chris Peterson ends Bryan Business Council tenure

On December 14, 2009, Chris Peterson presided over his last official meeting of the Bryan Business Council. Peterson was appointed by the Bryan City Council to the post in January 2004, and served the maximum term of 6 years, including the last 2 years as President of the BBC.
During this time period, the City of Bryan pursued numerous economic development opportunities and greatly increased their sales tax base. Some of the projects that were begun or completed during this time period included:
- The Texas A&M Health Science Center
- Toyo Ink
- Bryan Towne Center, including Target & Cracker Barrel
- Fibertown
- Downtown Bryan revitalization
- Agnitek's relocation
- Stonehenge Development
- Briar Meadows (age-restricted, retirement) Subdivision
- Boonville Town Center, including Best Western & IHOP
- G-Con & GreenVacc
